Henry Moore - Mother & Child and other works

10 - 27 September 2003
Overview

This exhibition presents the exciting opportunity to see Henry Moore's breadth of interpretation of a subject that had always been central to his work and affection: the Mother and Child. The core of this exhibition consists of Moore's thirty Mother and Child etchings of 1983.  His last and most important series of works on this theme, it provides a fascinating exploration of the relationship between the mother and growing child.  Based on drawings made by this master draughtsman since 1975, these prints offer a sense of reflection back over a monumental career.
