Overview

Following three outstanding exhibitions, we are delighted to present Eric Tucker: Characters and Places. Held in conjunction with Alon Zakaim Fine Art, this new show presents a selection of never-before-seen works from Eric Tucker’s estate – including preparatory works and their finished counterparts, which offer a rare glimpse into the artist’s creative process and the people and places which quietly shaped his world.

This exhibition focuses on the community that was so crucial to Eric Tucker's world and art. Known to always have paper and a pencil in his pocket, Tucker would record people around him and their surroundings. These figures reoccur through out his work, transferring from prepatatory sketches to oil paintings and watercolours.

Eric Tucker: Characters and Places follows the publication in January 2025 of critically-acclaimed biography The Secret Painter, penned by Tucker's nephew Joe Tucker- a heart warming exploration of his uncle's elusive world.
