Shani Rhys James - The National Eisteddfod of Wales

We would like to congratulate Shani Rhys James, who has had four paintings chosen for the National Eisteddfod of Wales, which runs from 1st – 8th August. Included are The Bath (2011), Bath II (2012), Pink Spots (2013) and Red Ground II (2013-14) which features in the BBC documentary What Do Artists Do All Day?

Established in 1865, the Eisteddfod’s Visual Arts Exhibition is considered to be the pinnacle of the visual arts calendar in Wales. The exhibition celebrates excellence, innovation and commitment in contemporary Welsh art and crafts. This tradition is maintained by awarding the Gold Medal for Fine Art, which Rhys James won in 1992.
