Dufy and Lebasque

23 January - 21 February 2004
Overview

This exhibition features a stunning collection of works by the two great Modern colourists: Raoul Dufy (1877-1953) and Henri Lebasque (1865-1937).  The two artists were almost exact contemporaries and both made vital contributions to numerous avant-garde Post-Impressionist circles of their time. This is an exciting grouping of rarely exhibited works by these momentous figures. The career of each artist is distinct and yet in this nexus of an exhibition, the surprising and delightful stylistic interplay between the two is brought to the fore.
